Governor extends stay-at-home order
Today, Governor Inslee announced an extension of his Stay Home/Stay Healthy executive order, including an extension of the current restrictions on construction, until May 4. See the Seattle Times article here.
Please know that AGC of Washington is working with the Governor and his staff on the issue of a construction restart. We are keenly aware of the hardship the shutdown is having on all of you, as well as the value of the construction industry to the overall economy.

Our approach is not to simply demand that construction be reopened, but to engage the Governor’s office on a discussion of how and when construction can be safely reopened. We understand the safety of our workforce is paramount, and we are constantly learning more about safety practices and equipment that could be put in place on the jobsite.
We will keep you posted on these discussions, but for now we will work to keep you up-to-date on important information.
Please visit our COVID-19 Contractor Resources webpage – and let us know if there is information you think we should add to it.

Town Hall #3 conference call tomorrow
Join us tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. via telephone for an opportunity to discuss where we are now, including an update on the new federal emergency leaves that became effective April 1, and a discussion of how it and other employee-leave entitlements intersect with Washington’s stay-at-home order. Things are changing by the minute and we want to bring you important updates as often as we can.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
