Don't miss the May 4 Cinco de Mayo dinner meeting with comedian
Cory Michaelis

In keeping with our efforts to refocus on fun events after an awful pandemic, we're proud to present comedian Cory Michaelis at our May 4 Cinco de Mayo dinner meeting.
In addition to headlining comedy clubs all over the US and Canada, Cory has taken his act global, doing tours in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Pakistan.
We'll be at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club with a 5:00 pm social hour and 6:00 pm dinner/program.
Seating is limited! Click here to register for this fun event by noon on May 2.

Pierce County Construction Career Day
AGC is highly involved with the annual Pierce County Construction Career Day for regional high-school students as part of our workforce-development efforts.
Each year, 2,000 to 2,500 students from 40 different high schools participate in this event. 50 to 100 industry information booths are set up, equipment is available for students to explore under the watchful eyes of trades people and the event should be considered an extensive recruitment effort for our industry.
Ten of thousands of dollars are raised each year to rent the indoor venue at the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup and provide food to the over 2,000 guests.
This year, due to COVID, the Pierce County Construction Career Day Committee has decided to send recruitment videos to CTE instructors rather than have a live event. Local high schools agreed with this approach. Even during the pandemic, the construction industry has found its way into schools to showcase all that the industry has to offer future tradespeople and detail the high wages and earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship opportunities available.
