Take the AGCW member survey
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
AGC of Washington invites all members to participate in the 2021 Member Satisfaction & Strategic Positioning Survey, running today through May 19. All respondents will be entered into a drawing for one of four $250 VISA gift cards. Click here to take the survey today.
This anonymous survey will help AGCW staff and leadership better understand members’ evolving needs and how you use current AGCW services.
Employees of AGC member firms (with a valid email on file) should have received a survey invitation earlier today (check that spam folder, or just click the link above) and will have until May 19th to submit responses. The survey includes only 17 questions and should take just ten minutes or so to complete.
Individuals completing the survey will be entered into a drawing for one of four $250 VISA gift cards.
AGCW thanks you in advance for your input and support of this process. If you have questions regarding the survey, please contact AGCW’s strategic-planning consultant Elisa Pratt.
What bills passed
or died this year
in the Legislature?

It was a legislative session like no other. Major policy pieces, such as a capital-gains tax and cap-and-trade legislation -- both opposed by AGC -- made it across the finish line after years of effort by proponents. But there were many other bills of particular concern to the construction industry that were also considered. What lived, what died? Click here to see the summary.
Golf events return to AGC schedule

Group Retro train just keeps rollin' on
Congratulations to our Group Retro members for achieving a whopping $81.2M in refunds for our three years in cycle.

“This year, we were able to increase our final adjustment year by nearly a million dollars such that our top net member refunds hit 59%,” said Lauren Gubbe, Group Retro director. “On top of excellent refund results for members in all plan years, we hit our own internal target for beating last year’s total tracked savings before the adjustments!”
“These results reflect the caliber of our members and their shared commitment to safety from the top down and bottom up in conjunction with their investment in light duty accommodation. Their efforts along with our plan underwriting, performance based refund allocation, and the skilled AGC staff assistance continue to produce excellent results year in and out,” said Van Hardy, AGC Retro chairman.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, refund checks will be distributed by mail. Annual experience modification rate (EMR) performance awards will be either mailed or hand-delivered by various AGC staff.

    Small-business partnering event for
WSDOT I-405 Renton to Bellevue project

The next quarterly virtual networking event for the I-405 Renton to Bellevue Design-Build Project is coming up on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 3:30 p.m., hosted by the Flatiron-Lane joint-venture.
Small, minority, women, and veteran-owned firms are strongly encouraged to attend. WSDOT's upcoming $705-million WSDOT project has inclusion goals of 10% for minority-owned firms, 6% for women-owned firms; 5% for veteran-owned firms; and 5% for small businesses in general.
Many of the large specialty contractor firms will also be attending. In case available scopes don't match the capabilities of small businesses, they may be able to speak to representatives of these other companies about other upcoming opportunities.
Click here for more information and to register.

Employees, too, save big with AGC membership
One of the most overlooked benefits for AGC-member firms is the many great discounts -- for Verizon, Staples, Sherwin-Williams, Office Depot and more. But employees, too, can take advantage of exclusive savings, including Verizon, Skechers, 1-800-FLOWERS, TrueCar, Omaha Steaks and more.
